I didn't start the story off with the intention of basing it off my family--I started it with the intention of writing a nonsensical crack-pairing. But I think some part of my brain thought that this particular crack-pairing was a good idea, because it does deal with some issues in my own life and family. My mother cheated on my father, and I'm not angry with her about that, but it did have a huge impact on my life. Part of this story is me trying to figure out what might have motivated my mother, and how my father might have felt about it. My mother is very different from Sachiko, but the way I write her is based a little bit on my mom. So yes, the story is loosely based on that situation, but I made a lot of things up and the point is the story, it's not meant to be a veiled autobiography. Just my way of trying to make sense of things. Kind of like your 'World of Sights and Sounds', maybe?
