I guess because he just...reacts to everything in such an over-the-top way, while simultaneously trying to pretend that he's okay with everything? The conflict is irresistible! He's just...so fun to torture. Some characters would hardly react to something like this, so it's no fun and there's no drama, I guess? Glad you liked it, and thanks for the comment!
