I got the idea thinking about the differences in how I responded to stress and how other people did--I realized that something like this holds just as much difference and thus could be kind of interesting. I didn't know which mother to use for the third one at first--I ended up picking Mello just because I'm slightly more comfortable with him than Near, and Matt would feel like a weird choice.
