I've grown increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of random people who I don't know reading my journal, and since I've been finding myself f-locking almost every entry as of late anyway, I thought it was high time I went friends-only. I'm always open to new friends, so if you'd like me to add you, please comment here, and I'm likely to add you. I have no requirements for adding, just comment first and tell me who you are and where you know me from, and we'll go from there. If you add me, it'd be nice to hear from you once in a while!

Since I'm locking up the shop, you can't really tell much about me or about what you'll find on this journal. What you'll see if we're not LJ pals is my fandom stuff--fanfiction and FSTs for the most part, since I can't draw or make icons for beans. If you add me, you're going to see a lot of other things as well. So I'll go ahead and tell you a little bit about myself!

! My name is Anna, but you can call me Nana. So different, right? Nicknames I've used in the past include Anya, Anapi, Rei, Smap, and Spoon. My mom calls me Princess and my fiance calls me Sexyface. My sister calls me Bitchjerk, and my kitten calls me That Mean Lady Who Won't Let Me Chew On Her Computer Cable.

@ My birthday is May 20th, 1988. As my age is obviously subject to change, I'll leave it at that.

# I live in New York City--just now I'm on Staten Island, but I grew up in Manhattan. I am jokingly elitist about my city. I do think it's a magnificent place and I am incredibly grateful to have grown up there, but hey, other places are pretty excellent too!

$ I am engaged to an awesome guy named Erik (

templar1138). We met during our first year of college, at a LARP. I'm not normally into LARP, and have since decided that it really isn't for me, but I wanted to try something new, and he was into it. After a session or two we got to talking, and he was absolutely appalled that I'd never seen Star Wars, and he had to personally remedy this. He proposed to be on our second anniversary, and it remains one of the best memories of my entire life.

% I live with my mother (Michele), stepfather (Dave), brother (Lukas), sister (Katya), five cats (Seamus aka Fishy, Stella aka Petey, Lola, Pikachu, and Delilah), and two dogs (Joey and Mischa). I have a stepbrother (Davis) who recently moved to Canada, and my dad (Wolf) and his wife (Beth) live in Maryland with their daughter Greta. Greta was born in May of 2009, and I'm absolutely infatuated with her. One thing you can expect if you friend me is periodic picspams of a baby with enormous blue eyes.

^ I write. A lot. If you add me, expect to see Death Note fanfiction and original fiction popping up from time to time. On this journal I'm currently posting my 2009 NaNoWriMo novel--it's about a woman named Rhiannon who can give people any disease she wants to by touching them.

& I am the creator and moderator of

dn_contest, a weekly Death Note fanfiction competition where community members are given a prompt, and they write fanfiction based on the prompt. Entries are then judged by the community and by myself, and the winners get a nifty banner in return!

* I use this journal to talk about a lot of really personal stuff, and that's a big part of why I'm f-locking from now on. LJ for me is like free therapy, so while I've got a lot of fun stuff up here too, if you add me you're going to hear about a lot of the nonsense and angst that goes through my head. You're going to hear about my mom's health problems and the dynamics of my family, and you're going to hear about my period. Anything particularly long or overemotional will usually be behind a cut, but just be warned that if you add me, you're going to get to know me.

! I also use this journal to share music. Just about every other entry has a song or two uploaded at the end of it. I'm a music junkie, and I spend a lot of time searching out new things to listen to, so I like sharing the fruits of my labor with my friends.

@ My goals in life include teaching high school English, having lots and lots of babies, and publishing my original fiction. Just now, I'm finishing up a degree in Literature. This means that I'm a total dork and make stupid references to books I like (in particular The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann) more often than anyone should. Just now I'm writing a massive research paper on tuberculosis in literature.

# I don't like to try to judge my own personality, because I know for a fact that I'm no expert on myself. But one thing I can say is that I'm pretty non-aggressive, and I try my best to look at all sides of conflicts and to understand other people's points of view. Not saying I always succeed at this, but getting along with others and making sure everyone is happy is important to me! I promise, I will never intentionally be an asshole!

We're already friends, but I was browsing your journal because it is awesome and fun, which I really hope you don't mind, and I came across your "I [anatomically correct heart] NY" icon. Love! I have a "sweetheart" t-shirt which is a shirt with a sucrose molecule with an anatomically correct heart underneath it, hence "sweetheart." I think it's a sucrose molecule, but I know it's some type of sweet sugary molecule of punny goodness.

Hello there! I'm not much of an active person when it comes to posting journal entries, but since summer is drawing near for me, I'm about to change that. Anyway, I've been following your old community for awhile now, so I'm familiar with you through there. I understand how annoying it may seem that I would want to be your friend because of that, but I think that you should know that you've been a big part of my inspiration just by running that community. I also took the liberty in reading this, and we do have similar interests and such, so it isn't that I can only relate to you through a fandom! It's not creepy at all! One of my biggest worries with abandoning the community is that the people involved wouldn't want to talk to me anymore, so it's nice to know that that's not the case! I would love to be friends with you. *adds*

I must ask, since your writing/have written a paper on TB in lit have you encountered 'The Chalet School' series by E B Dyer? If you haven't it's quite a good series and it mentions TB quite a bit.

I already wrote the paper a while ago--it was my requirement for graduating college--and I suppose I really should update this post to reflect that. But anyway, I had not heard of that series. Even though I'm done with the project I'm still interested in the topic, so I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

XD. Not at all. You seem like a greeat person yourself.

And its a sixty book series about a English Boarding School in Austria (well they move a lot but they start there) and there is a lot of focus on health. The headmistriss marries a doctor who speacilises in TB and they remain in close contact with the school. I quite like them, but your only issue is they might be abit hard to find as they started in the 20's and finished in the 60's.

I find that few people actually did trust Severus to the extent I did- but I loathed him for over a week after he killed DD. No longer. A lot of people find albus severus touching.? I think Sev would have loved the irony, being a walking paradox himself.
